After a year without a dog, we have finally gotten another one. He has been spoiled like CRAZY!!! He is a miniature Dachshund and his name is Chance. The boys went back to school after Thanksgiving break today and he walked around the house looking for them and crying. :( He even got to take in Aaron's basketball scrimmage in Lake City on Saturday.
We had my sister Lynelle and her family and my mom and dad for Thanksgiving. I have to say that the noise level in the house is almost eerily quiet today after having company around. I love spending time with family. We did our usual "Black Friday" shopping after Thanksgiving. The only difference being that I had to work the night shift before that and was quite tired. I would never miss that shopping trip on account of sleep. We hope you all enjoyed Thanksgiving!
Football is over and we are looking forward to Basketball starting. Luke and Aaron are both playing. Drew is sad that he is still too young to play. Soon enough he will be playing. We think things are crazy now!!!!!!! Aaron, Drew, and I went to Pillsbury for the alumni basketball game. It was a bittersweet time for me. It was fun to be there but if you hadn't heard, they are closing their doors on December 31, 2008. It is the end of an era. My mom and dad met at Pillsbury as well as several of my Aunts and Uncles. Pillsbury will be missed!
We had a VERY fun weekend! We left for Leigh Ann's right after we picked up Dan from work. We got there at about 9pm. We would have been there sooner but traffic is always crazy. The whole Pearson clan was there, even HUSBANDS!!!! That doesn't happen very often. Usually when we all get together it is without our husbands. (not purposely, they are usually working) Saturday was spent at Ruttger's. Greg is the Head Golf Pro for the course. Ruttger's was having their annual Oktoberfest. The kids were able to be a part of a tractor pull. We also walked around and saw all of the vendors they have there. The guys were all able to go golfing together. Aaron just liked driving the golf cart and scaring his father. I wish I could have been there to see that. :) We spent the night in a condo at Ruttgers. It was right next to the lake. My little fishermen, Luke and Drew, tried to fish but didn't catch anything. It was beautiful up north with all of the leaves changing. I think the hardest part about getting together is knowing that we eventually have to leave and say good-bye to everyone.
Football and Volleyball are coming to an end. I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!! It has been a good season for Aaron and Luke. Both of their teams continue to be undefeated. Homecoming was Friday in St. Charles. Drew loves any reason to be able to wear orange and black. (school colors) Luke got to play on the RCTC football field this Saturday. It was artificial terf which he thought was cool. He also had a great sack of the quarterback!! My father-in-law was recently diagnosed with Hodkins Lymphoma. He started Chemo 2 weeks ago. We are praying for the best in this situation. It is always hard to watch love ones go through difficult times. Last night he was admitted to the ICU with what they think is Pneumonia. He is doing better now that he has had some antibiotics. We hope to get him home soon. We hope all is well for everyone! I am sure everyone is looking forward to MEA break. HA!
We are in full swing with Fall sports season! The boys are enjoying playing football. Luke plays on a 5th/6th grade team for St. Charles. They have played 3 games and have won all of them. His positions are fullback and defensive end. He scored the first touchdown of the season for his team. Dan is his coach. Aaron plays on the 8th grade football team for St. Charles High School. He plays defensive end and tightend. He has had a successful season. His team is undefeated, 6-0. This past Monday he had 2 touchdowns. On one of the catches he had that game, he jumped up, caught the ball, and his shoe came off and flew 20ft. in the air. Everyone thought that it was the football. Of course I had to ask how in the world his shoe could come off??? He proceeded to tell me that he leaves his shoelaces loose so that he can slip his shoes on and off. I suppose he won't be doing that anymore. Drew is my little buddy! He goes everywhere with me. He enjoys going to my volleyball teams' games. I think he likes to see his best friend, Gavin, who is at the games. His sister is on the team. We have a big volleyball tournament in Stewartville this weekend! I can't wait to see how my 8th graders do.
Well, what can I say?? It has been FOREVER since I have made a post. We had a busy summer. We took a vacation up north to Webb Lake. It is in Hackensack, MN. My grandparents had a cabin on Big Deep Lake in Hackensack, so we are very used to the area around Webb Lake. My sister, Lynelle, and her husband, Tony, stayed in his grandmothers cabin that is on Webb Lake. We had a lot of fun! The kids had a blast fishing. All Drew wants to do now is FISH!!! My sister, Leigh Ann, lives in Brainerd and we met them for a Fourth of July parade. Baseball was also a BIG part of our summer. All 3 of the boys were in baseball. Dan helped coach Luke and Drew's teams. We had baseball every night of the week but Wednesday. Of course, it sounds like we hated it but we didn't!!! We love watching our boys play sports! There is no better way to spend a night in the summer than watching baseball. Now that the children are back in school, I am going to try very hard to keep up with our blog. We hope this finds everyone well!
We had our Spring Break this past week. It is the first year in several years that St. Charles has had a week off for Spring Break. We had a great week. It began with a trip to Wisconsin Dells. We stayed at the Kalahari Resort. It has a large indoor waterpark with slides and a wave pool. My parents, Lynelle, and her children went with. We had a great time! Lynelle and Tony came for Easter weekend. My parents were both sick and were unable to come. It didn't feel right not having them there. The kids went on an Easter egg hunt on Saturday. Our Moose Lodge has children separate by grade, they get on buses, and then the buses take them to separate sites to look for eggs. Luke went with Blake and helped him find eggs. Blake can't go anywhere without his "Best Buddy". We had the best bus driver of them all. It was Luke and Drew's grandpa Leistikow. Aaron has officially started Baseball. They are practicing inside until the snow is all melted. Of course, we just had another snow storm this weekend and all of the grass that was showing is again covered by snow. YUCK!!!
